Artsy fartsy stuff

Playing with a new camera lense when I was having lunch at Merrill's. Hey, you never know when I may need a picture of a salt shaker !

Travis and Clint, cutting up scrap pieces of the rough cut wood left over from building the new drywall shed. Why ? Well, the new building they just moved into has a wood stove, and they burn the scrap wood to save money on heating costs.

How much does it weigh ?

This is the scrap metal pile, at teh Waterboro Transfer Station. Periodically a firm comes in with large trucks and a grapple, and removes it, paying Waterboro for the metal. The Transfer Station Manager, Clint, has said he'd award something to the person that guesses how much it will weigh the next time they remove it all. Probably a gift certificate. Or dinner out with the Chair of the Board, Dennis Abbott. Or something like that !

Why cover old drywall ?

Well, we pay according to weight, when we get rid of the drywall. Everytime it rains or snows, the drywall absorbs the water, and it costs us more money. The new shed and roof keep out the rain. The last one was built years ago by Willis Lord.

Transfer Station

Travis working on the new roof for the drywall container. Unfortunately he was working in the shade, and finally figured out that I was not leaving until he poked his head into the sunshine !
